He Changed the WorldWith the passing of Steve Jobs, you can’t help examining his legacy. Many point to the incredible inventions that changed the way we talk and type, like the iPhone and the iPad. However, for myself, it’s just so much more than that.

Steve Jobs and Apple provided the tools to match our dreams.

Years ago, before we started Jet Set Life, we found ourselves in a rut. Like many people, we had a normal life- work, kid, school functions, family, Saturday date night. I wouldn’t say boring, just not inspiring. So we brainstormed how we could begin to enjoy our lives more. We loved to travel and share our experiences, pictures etc. with family and friends. Then when Apple announced that they were going to be launching the “video podcast” we knew what we wanted. We wanted to create our own travel show!

Apple gave us all the tools. We bought the Macbook with iMovie to edit the show, uploaded it to iTunes and began our journey in the virtual world. Now, 5 years later- we’re a real company, with a worldwide audience and a real income and more importantly, we love what we do. Discover A New WorldAll internet users had to start somewhere. All those who did made it a point to stop using their computers for sending emails and word processing exclusively and branched out to the wonders that are the internet. The internet is now the place for shopping, research, visiting friends and so much more. It is revolutionary. Even as good as the internet is, there can be some confusion as to how to use it and what to use it for. It is a huge place after all, so where do you start? Start with some of the things the internet is most commonly used for.

Sales via the internet are at an all-time high. The struggling economy has taken its toll on brick and mortar stores. It’s something that you’ve probably seen play out in your own community. A drive down most small town Main Streets reveals a large number of “for rent” signs in store fronts. The internet is now home to thousands of stores selling everything from clothing to groceries.

That unique piece of artwork you’ve been looking for? You can find it on the internet. Hunting for the specialty cookies from your favorite little cafĂ© that you totally love? You’ll more than likely find those online too. Internet ordering is easy. You can sit at home and do your holiday shopping in your pajamas. Everything can then be shipped directly to the recipient.
